The food at Champers is excellent but you certainly pay for it. Maybe you’re paying for the view because the way it’s perched above the rocks in Rockley Bay is unique and it offers something that few can rival, height. Dinner on the water is great but dinner high above the water looking over the horizon is stunning. We must say that Champers fell into the Bajan trap of offering dishes to cover all tastes by stretching itself from Ricotta Tortellini to Spring Rolls and it makes us feel as though they got lost in trying to be everything to everyone.
It practically hasn’t changed since it first opened and years down the line you can still order what you used to have when life was in black and white… And it will be just as good. Their ingredients are fresh, the chef is incredible and the service is consistent and clearly a head above the rest. The wine list is broad and smart. They know what they’re doing.
The Christmas menu probably tops everything off and if there’s ever a place to have a good plate of ham, it’s Champers.
