Waterfront Cafe

We don’t have too much to say for Bridgetown itself so queue The Waterfont Cafe. It is unlike anywhere else in Barbados, right on the harbour-front which is good for enjoying live music. The atmosphere is bubbly and the music is wonderful so it’s easy to have a few cocktails and even decide to get up and dance. Dixieland Jazz is on Thursdays and that is the night to go. By no means are we super-jazzy but we know how to love something when it’s good. Friday and Saturday nights are also hosts to live music but nothing hits the spot like the Dixieland does.

Reserve in advance and see if you can get a table with a view of the marina and the band at the same time because if you’re not careful you could end up at the back where it’s a lot hotter, darker and with a lot less to see. The food was nice enough and a bit pricey but it’s not really what you go for. That said we can highly recommend the carrot cake which is certainly the best in Barbados.
